Dr Antonia Obele
Clinical Psychologist (HCPC registred)
I am a Clinical Psychologist offering individual and couples therapy online and in person. I aim to provide a warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life, whether you are struggling with a particular difficulty or simply feel that something needs to change.
About Antonia
I have worked across NHS and third-sector services with people across all ages, from children and young people through to older adults, supporting individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, psychosis, eating difficulties, ADHD and autism, as well as difficulties that do not always fit neatly within a diagnosis.
I have a particular interest in supporting people through significant periods of change and transition, including changes in relationships, work, identity and family life. Having grown up in Germany and lived and trained in the UK, I also understand some of the complexities that can come with living between countries and cultures, including navigating questions around belonging and identity.
My approach to therapy is integrative, which means that rather than following one therapeutic model, I draw on different approaches depending on you, your experiences and what you hope to gain from therapy. My training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and systemic and narrative approaches.
At the beginning of therapy, we will spend time developing a shared understanding of what has brought you here. This might involve thinking together about your current circumstances, earlier experiences and relationships, and the ways you have learned to cope with difficult situations or emotions. Rather than viewing these patterns simply as problems to be fixed, I think it can be helpful to understand why they developed and what purpose they may have served, before considering whether different ways of responding might now be more helpful.
Central to my work is creating a space in which you feel safe, heard and able to speak openly. I see therapy as a collaborative process rather than something that happens to you, and I welcome your thoughts and feedback along the way. Together, we can explore what matters to you and work towards changes that feel sustainable and meaningful in your life.
Finding the right therapist truly matters and can feel like a difficult decision to make. If you think we might work well together, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us the chance to talk briefly about what has brought you to therapy, what you might be looking for, and whether working together feels like the right fit.
