Our Services
HQ Therapy provides two distinct services:
Low-Cost Counselling Service
We offer affordable therapy sessions delivered by trainee therapists who are completing clinical placements. All trainees work towards professional qualification and are supervised by experienced practitioners in line with BACP ethical guidelines. All therapists hold professional indemnity insurance.
When you book through our portal, your therapy is governed by the Client Contract you sign before sessions begin.
Room Hire
We rent therapy rooms to independent, fully qualified therapists. These therapists are self-employed and run their own practices. They are not employed by, supervised by, or otherwise the responsibility of HQ Therapy. We do not manage their bookings, take payments on their behalf, or oversee their clinical work. Any agreement you enter into with a room-hire therapist is between you and that therapist directly.
If we think one of the independent, fully qualified therapists who work from HQ Therapy could be a good fit, we may share your assessment with them so they can decide whether they can work with you. We take out your name, contact details, date of birth and GP details first. A therapist only gets your name and contact details once they have agreed to work with you. The therapist who agrees to work with you receives your full assessment and keeps a copy for their own records.
The Portal
Our client portal lets you:
- Book a session block and choose your block size
- Review and sign your Client Contract digitally
- Pay your deposit and manage ongoing payments
- View your Payment Schedule and session history
When you sign your Client Contract through the portal, it is legally binding. Payments are processed by Stripe — when you make a payment, you are also subject to Stripe's terms of service.
Your Account
You must be 18 or over to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must act on your behalf.
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information
- Keeping your login details secure
- Letting us know straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account
We may suspend your account if you breach these terms.
This Is Not a Crisis Service
Our service is not suitable for emergencies. If you are in crisis or in immediate danger, please contact:
- Emergency services: 999
- Samaritans: 116 123 (free, 24/7)
- Your GP
We do not provide medical advice. Our website content is for information only. Therapy outcomes vary and we cannot guarantee specific results.
Cancellation Rights
You have a statutory right to cancel your Client Contract within 14 days of signing, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
To cancel, email hello@hqtherapy.com with your name and the words "I wish to cancel my contract." Full cancellation terms (including what happens if you have already attended sessions) are in your Client Contract.
Acceptable Use
When using our website and portal, you must not:
- Use it for anything unlawful
- Try to access other people's accounts or our systems
- Share your login details with anyone else
- Harass, abuse, or threaten any therapist, staff member, or other user
- Provide false information

Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to provide our services caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
General
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right under these terms, that does not mean we have waived it.
