About Rhys
My name is Rhys Dawney, and I am a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. My practice is currently based at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, London E8.
How I work
Although my training has been across many modalities of therapy, I tend to lean towards a more person-centred approach in my practice and believe that a strong bond between client and therapist is essential for effective therapeutic work to take place.
I believe establishing a strong relationship is based on trust, honesty, and connectivity with one another, which helps to create a safe and supportive space where my clients can feel seen, heard, and understood so that meaningful change can occur.
I bring a unique skill-set to psychotherapy and counselling from my experience as a Company Director, previously working as a creative in both the design and music industry.
My aim as a therapist is to help facilitate an environment in which emotional growth can take place, as well as healing, and the meeting of goals set collaboratively between myself and my clients.
I am an attentive, empathic listener with a naturally inquisitive and nurturing personality who is dedicated to understanding my clients’ emotions and concerns; establishing a real and human connection, as well as communicating ideas in a relatable and digestible way so that my clients can open up to new ways of thinking to help overcome their issues and take control of their lives.
