Qualified TherapistIn Person & OnlineHighbury Fields

I am a humanistic psychotherapist grounded in Transactional Analysis and EMDR. I work with adults and couples, and I am registered with UKCP. Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent 25 years as a researcher in human motivation and behaviour change.

About Anjali

I am a humanistic psychotherapist, and at the heart of my work is a belief in each person's capacity to live more fully, with a deeper sense of authenticity and connection.

At times, life can feel difficult or off balance, and we may find ourselves repeating patterns that no longer serve us. These patterns often have roots in earlier experiences and ways of adapting that once made sense, but can now leave us feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward.

How I Work

My approach is grounded in Transactional Analysis (TA), which offers a clear and accessible framework for understanding ourselves and our relationships. I value TA for its openness, its focus on working in partnership, and the practical tools it offers alongside deeper insight.

I am also trained in EMDR, which I draw on where appropriate, particularly when working with trauma or distressing experiences.

I work with adult individuals and couples. In individual therapy, we jointly make sense of what is happening for you, how you think, feel, and relate to others, and gently explore the patterns that may be shaping your life.

In couples work, I support both partners to slow things down and understand what is happening beneath recurring patterns of conflict, misunderstanding, or distance. I aim to create a balanced space where difficult conversations can take place more safely, opening up the possibility for greater empathy and clearer communication.

Background

Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent 25 years as a researcher in human motivation and behaviour change, exploring how psychology and culture influence the choices we make. This continues to inform my work, particularly in understanding the wider context of each person's experience.

I hold an MSc in Psychotherapy, am a Certified Transactional Analyst, and am registered with UKCP. Alongside my private practice I work with an NHS primary care service in North London, and I teach Transactional Analysis psychotherapy and offer clinical supervision.
