About Eliza
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science. My experience includes working as a school counsellor across a range of educational settings, as well as providing private therapy to adults and young people.
I offer a supportive, collaborative space for individuals to explore their experiences, better understand themselves, and navigate life’s challenges. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body image, grief, trauma, emotional regulation, or difficulties in your relationships, therapy can help you make sense of what you are experiencing and find a way forward.
Sometimes, people come to therapy with a clear idea of what they want to work on. Others may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck without fully understanding why. You do not need to have all the answers before beginning therapy. Together, we can explore what is bringing you to therapy, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
My work focuses on understanding the experiences, relationships, and beliefs that shape how we see ourselves and navigate the world. For example, anxiety in relationships may be connected to fears of abandonment, previous experiences, or uncertainty about trust and connection. Similarly, persistent self-criticism may be rooted in perfectionism, past experiences, or a reliance on external validation. By exploring these patterns with curiosity and compassion, therapy can help you develop greater self-awareness, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and build a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to each individual, recognising that no two people have the same experiences or needs. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including schema therapy to explore longstanding beliefs and patterns; systemic therapy to understand the influence of relationships and wider systems; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to develop psychological flexibility and live in line with personal values; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to explore the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours; Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation and distress tolerance; and narrative therapy and Gestalt techniques to explore personal experiences, identity, and present-moment awareness.
I am passionate about mental health and believe that no one should have to navigate difficult experiences alone. My aim is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgement. I see therapy as a collaborative process, rather than one in which solutions are imposed. Together, we can work towards greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, and meaningful change.
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you are unsure what to expect or whether therapy is right for you. I offer a free initial phone consultation to give us an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for and explore whether my approach feels like a good fit.
