Yujia Zhang:
Trainee Humanistic Integrative Counsellor (BACP student member)
Hello, my name is Yujia Zhang. I am a trainee counsellor working in the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms.
I hold a master’s degree in Psychology and am currently studying for a Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling at CPPD School of Counselling. My academic background has provided me with a deep understanding of the psychological and social factors influencing mental health and well-being, which I integrate into my therapeutic work. I am also a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework.
Having grown up in China and now living and working in the UK, I bring a cross-cultural perspective to my practice. This experience has shaped my understanding of how cultural and personal transitions influence our sense of identity, relationships, and emotional well-being.
Life can feel overwhelming or isolating at times, and it’s not always easy to navigate these challenges alone. Therapy offers a unique opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive and confidential environment. My goal is to create a warm, empathic, and non-judgemental space where you feel comfortable sharing openly and beginning to make sense of the difficulties you face.
I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if it’s your first time. My approach is to meet you where you are, working together to build a relationship based on trust and understanding. I believe the therapeutic relationship is key to meaningful change, and I aim to tailor the process to your individual needs and goals.
As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I draw on evidence-based approaches, including person-centred therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Transactional Analysis (TA). This integrative approach allows me to adapt therapy to what works best for you, offering a flexible and personalised experience.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or a sense of being stuck in life, I am here to support you on your journey towards greater self-awareness, resilience, and well-being.
