Yasmine Najib Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist hackney London E8Yasmine Najib:

Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist (BACP)

Hello, my name is Yasmine Najib (she/her), and I am an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, London E8.

Starting therapy for the first time or returning during a challenging period in your life can feel daunting. Having undergone personal therapy myself as part of my three-year master’s training, I understand the courage it takes to begin this journey.

I am here to guide you and provide assurance that you’re not alone in whatever you’re thinking and feeling at this moment.

My aim is to create a welcoming weekly space that is yours to use however you need, recognising that it takes time to understand what we’re feeling and why; to process our experiences; to see our patterns of behaviour; and to reframe our thoughts.

I provide warm, collaborative, and inclusive therapy for adults, with a particular focus on relational issues, early attachment, anxiety, depression, stress, identity issues, self-esteem, confidence building, women’s issues, and work-related concerns.

My integrative style combines psychodynamic and person-centred practices. This means exploring how your current feelings and behaviours are influenced by past experiences and unconscious impulses, while ensuring that the process is led by you, the expert in your own life, with my support alongside.

I also adopt a relational approach, attuning to your specific needs and using our therapeutic relationship as a means of achieving insight and growth. In our sessions, I offer a non-judgmental, safe, and contained environment where you can explore difficult emotions and experiences.

Together, we will work at your own pace towards self-understanding and meaningful change, with quarterly progress reviews to reflect on how you’re feeling and assess our work together.

I encourage the use of various materials in the therapy room—such as photographs, journal entries, art, and more—as a way to access emotions that may have been overlooked. As our relationship develops, I invite open discussions around these objects. Visual analogies and metaphors are also central to my work, helping to clarify thoughts and feelings that might otherwise seem unclear.

With a decade of experience in communications and public relations, I bring a unique perspective to my therapeutic practice, grounded in a deep understanding of human connection, empathy, and the power of effective listening. This background may particularly resonate with those in similar fields, offering a relatable and insightful therapeutic experience.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to high standards of professionalism, proficiency, and ethical practice.

I completed my MSc in Therapeutic Counselling at the University of Greenwich, where I developed a strong focus on integrating counselling theory with cultural and contextual awareness, equipping me to help you explore how external factors may be impacting your internal world.

Fees:
Sessions are priced at £75 per session. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.
