Willow Cavendish:
Trainee Psychotherapist (UKCP student member)
My name is Willow Cavendish, I am a trainee psychotherapist working online for the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston and Dalston, Hackney, London E8. I offer weekly one-to-one online sessions with adults.
I’m currently training for an MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent’s University London. I am also a student member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and adhere to its guidelines.
I understand that life can be challenging and the decision to seek therapy can feel like a daunting task. Sometimes the world can seem like a very difficult place and the decision to talk to someone other than friends or family can be hard.
You may have experienced a traumatic event, suffered the loss of a loved one or just have a sense that something isn’t right.
Having gone through therapy myself, I have experienced first-hand just how important a genuine and trusting relationship is between an individual and their therapist.
My goal is to work with you to navigate and manage the life situations that have brought you here, working at a pace that you feel comfortable with.
My primary task is to help you develop a greater understanding of yourself, your emotions and your behaviour. I will work collaboratively with you to identify the root cause of your concern and explore the difficulties you are facing in a safe and non-judgemental space.
My aim is to create a supportive, compassionate and understanding environment where you feel heard and validated. I want to empower you to cultivate a sense of resilience and well-being that extends beyond the therapy room.
Working together, we can find ways to untangle any blocks you may have and work towards the growth you want to achieve.
I work integratively, meaning that I draw from a wide range of theories and techniques from psychodynamic therapy to humanistic. This is because I believe that there is no single approach that works for everyone and I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual.
I can help with a range of short and long-term issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, suicide, bereavement and low self-esteem.
My interest in therapy comes from a profound interest in people. I care about what happens to people and want to understand what it feels like to be them. Aside from my therapy training, I am currently on the board of CS Disabled Holidays. A charity which provides support and assistance to people living with long-term disabilities.
If you feel that I would be the right fit for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch and I look forward to hearing from you.
