Vidushi Gupta:
Trainee Integrative Therapist (BACP student member)
Hello and Namaste! My name is Vidushi Gupta and I am a trainee integrative therapist offering low-cost therapy and counselling at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, London E8.
I am currently working towards an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling at CPPD Counselling School with the goal to obtain my accreditation with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Additionally, I am fully insured and a student member of the BACP.
I am a second-generation Indian woman, born and raised in New York. While I spent most of my working life in the financial sector, upon moving to London in 2018 and embarking on a huge life transition, I found myself yearning for a change, something that I could not yet grasp.
This desire invigorated me to start my own therapeutic journey towards self-awareness, purpose, transformation, and growth.
I learned and continue to learn that, to be human is to accept that one will be in a constant state of progress. And as it is not always easy or straightforward to manage life’s fluctuations on one’s own, my desire is to meet you where you are in the present, whatever your circumstances in an authentic, vulnerable, empathetic, and non-judgmental way.
As unique individuals, our life experiences significantly impact our way of thinking and behaving, and ultimately our mental health and how we engage with the world and see ourselves.
Thus, my goal is to create a safe and confidential space where you feel seen, heard, understood, supported, and worthy; and develop a collaborative relationship that fosters connection, trust, and compassion to help you take a proactive role in your mental well-being.
My integrative training allows me to draw from a range of counselling theories and practices, which include, but are not limited to:
- Person-centred
- Gestalt
- Transactional Analysis (TA)
- Existential
- Psychodynamic
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
I engage with all of the above in a relational capacity and will employ, modify, and adapt my approach(es) depending on your individual needs and situation throughout our therapeutic relationship.
Additionally, I work with people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life and believe it is critical to conduct therapeutic sessions in a culturally-sensitive manner. Further, I have started exploring areas of specialization such as multicultural counselling, the immigrant experience, addiction, and trauma.
I understand that beginning therapy can feel intimidating or overwhelming, but I want to reassure you that there is no definite timeframe for healing and I am here to hold space for you, help you carry the things that feel heavy, and walk alongside you, gently and deliberately on your journey towards change, growth and discovery (or rediscovery) of your true self.
I am currently conducting face-to-face sessions on Saturday afternoons from 1 pm-4 pm at HQ Haggerston, but am available for online sessions by appointment on other days as well. I look forward to working with you.
