Stefan Tamabalo:
Integrative Counsellor Trainee (BACP student member)
My name is Stefan Tamabalo and I am a trainee Integrative Counsellor volunteering at HQ Therapy. I am currently seeing clients face-to-face, offering both long-term and short-term therapy.
Life can be difficult but the right support can be life-changing. Whether you’ve had previous therapy or this is your first time thinking about it, I’m here to help you understand what you can expect from working with me.
Seeking out therapy can feel daunting, so we will work collaboratively at a pace that feels right for you.
Whether presenting with a specific issue or simply to gain deeper understanding and self-awareness, I can provide a warm and non-judgemental space, where clients can be themselves and explore their challenges freely and confidentially.
Within this space, you can slow down and reconnect with yourself, feeling truly seen, heard, and supported.
Additionally, therapy offers the chance to develop tools and resources that extend beyond the session, enhancing resilience and self-compassion when navigating life’s challenges.
My approach:
As a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work under their Ethical Framework, which helps to guide my practice and provides you with a secure foundation for working ethically together.
I believe that no two clients are the same and am passionate about understanding the world through your perspective, with a deep respect for who you are and where you want to be.
My approach is ‘integrative’, meaning I draw on different therapeutic methods and approaches depending on the individual person’s needs and unique lived experience. These include but are not limited to psychodynamic, person-centred and existential theories that can help you find meaning, direction and the courage to face life’s challenges.
I have experience working with a diverse range of clients from different backgrounds, genders, religions and sexual orientations with awareness and sensitivity.
I have worked with clients experiencing a range of different challenges including but not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, neurodiversity, chronic pain and low self-esteem.
Above all, I believe that therapeutic relationship lies at the centre of the work and how we ‘fit’ as two people is integral to building trust and working collaboratively. So, if you feel we could work well together, feel free to get in contact so that we can arrange an initial 15-minute consultation session.
I look forward to meeting you.
