Simone Hacker Integrative Trauma-Informed and Embodied Therapist London E8Simone Hacker:

Integrative Trauma-Informed & Embodied Therapist (BACP)

Hi, my name is Simone Hacker and I hold a postgraduate diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. I furthermore hold a certificate in Integrative, Embodied Psychotherapy and Complex Trauma Therapy.

I am registered with both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and with the UKCP as a trainee therapist while completing my Advanced Diploma in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy.

Issues I work with:
Some (but not all) of the issues I work with are childhood/developmental trauma, relationship issues, issues around self-esteem and boundary setting, depression and anxiety, exploration of your identity and sense of self, loneliness and sense of belonging, cultural issues (e.g. due to immigration or different ethnicity than your surrounding), spirituality, feeling stuck or trapped, work-related issues, life transitions, grief and loss.

My Approach:
I believe healing is possible when we truly learn to accept and embrace all aspects of ourselves. Often, we need an empathetic other to support us in this process. Therefore, I offer a warm, caring, and empathetic approach where all of you are welcome.

Psychosynthesis is at the heart of my work, offering a deep journey into ourselves and a space to embrace all aspects of our being. Having further trained in embodied and complex trauma therapy, my approach is trauma-informed, with a focus on finding inner safety and feeling more at home in your body, as well as unpacking the root causes of your challenges.

I believe the body is an integral aspect of our self which, if attuned to carefully, can, not only be a source of self-expression but also of deep connection with our true self and the world. Many of our experiences are beyond words and can only be remembered and understood through feeling and sensing.

The talking aspect of therapy, on the other hand, offers insight, understanding, and verbal expression, which are equally useful aspects of therapy. Hence, sessions consist of a mixture of talking and experiential elements, such as inner parts work, somatic work, imagery, mindfulness, and movement.

Your autonomy is essential, which is why all interventions will be introduced with care and sensitivity to your needs and preferences.

I further work in a relational and collaborative way, meaning I value where you want to take the work and pay attention to—and may at times openly explore with you—the dynamics unfolding between us. This can reveal relational patterns familiar to you from your past and present life, but also unmet needs, longings, and hopes.

Languages I Speak:
I offer sessions in English and German.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.
