The essential elements of good sexual health and sexuality are unprejudiced and intimate relationships, sexual fulfillment and feeling comfortable with your sexual orientation. Alongside these elements, there should be adequate access to information and services, to avoid the risk of unintended pregnancy, illness or disease, coercion, violence and discrimination.
What Is Sexuality?: ‘Sexuality’ usually refers to your sexual orientation (who you are attracted to), but it also encompasses the kinds of sex you like to have, and your sexual identity. Sexual health (sometimes called reproductive health) is about your physical and psychological well-being around sex and sexuality.
What Is Sexual Health?: Sexual health concerns you might have include sexually transmitted infections (STIs), pregnancy, contraception, abortion or family planning, chem sex (using substances during sex), female genital mutilation (FGM), and many others.
What Is Sexual Orientation?: Sexual orientation is often seen as a spectrum, with people falling at different points along with it at different times in their lives. You may define your sexuality strictly or be more flexible (or fluid), and that might change throughout your life, including times when you’re not sure.
