Rosalind Oliver:
Counselling Psychotherapist (BACP & NCPS)
Hi, I am Rosalind Oliver, I am a qualified Integrative Humanistic Counselling Psychotherapist, trained at CPPD Counselling School, the University of London Birkbeck College of Law, BPP Law School and University of Westminster. I am registered with the BACP, supporting adult individuals and creative professionals in their mental health journeys.
The types of clients I see are adult individuals (male & female) from 18 through 65 and older, including adults from the LGBTQIA+ community. I also work with creative professionals in the music and acting industries and those that work behind the scenes in this industry helping them navigate their unique challenges and empowering them to thrive both behind the scenes and in the spotlight.
My approach is Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapy, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective therapeutic support to individuals seeking positive change in their lives. My diverse background and extensive education have equipped me with a unique set of skills to address a wide range of client needs.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I approach each client with empathy and non-judgement, facilitating a safe space for each client to unfold and explore their issues allowing the client to find their own individual ways of healing and moving forward with their lives.
I hold a master’s in psychology, complemented by a qualifications in law, which has provide me with a deep understanding of the complexities of human behaviour and the legal aspects that may impact individuals’ lives. Building upon this foundation, I have achieved both a Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapy, allowing me to offer a holistic approach to therapy that considers the whole person.
As a member of the BACP and NCPS, I am committed to upholding the highest professional standards and ethical practices in my work. These affiliations reflect my dedication to ongoing learning, development, and adherence to best practices in the field of counselling and psychotherapy, which in turn creates a trusting, supportive safe space for each client.
My legal background as a Lawyer and Artist Manager specialising in Music Management and contract law, and organizing the professional lives for musical artists, I bring a unique perspective to my practice. My previous experiences have honed my skills in communication, negotiation, and:
Understanding the complexities of interpersonal relationships, which enriches my approach to therapy. I understand the pressures of a busy professional life and the toxic environments we sometimes work and live in, which can lead to the development of stress and anxiety and can then impact our personal and professional relationships.
In my work as an Artist Manager I learned valuable lessons about myself, through my interactions with the Artist and with people in the music industry as a whole, and that is, if I am in an environment that listens to me and is able to hold and accept me, it is possible to overcome certain fears which have developed over a life span and going forward in my work with clients I would like the opportunity to help facilitate such an experience with my clients and the unique client group of performing Artist and clients who work within the creative industries.
My journey in therapy has included valuable experiences of community health and UK-wide low-cost counselling services and the experience of being the Practice Manager at a Private Psychiatric Clinic. These experience have allowed me to work with diverse clients’ populations and develop a deep understanding of the challenges individuals may face in their lives.
I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences. My Humanistic approach incorporates elements of Person-centred therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and a Relational Approach tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
