Rachel Seymour:
Sex & Relationship Therapist (COSRT)
I’m Rachel Seymour, a sex and relationship therapist. I currently see clients both online and face-to-face at HQ Therapy in Haggerston.
I am a fully qualified, insured and experienced psychosexual and relationship therapist and a registered member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).
I work with couples, individuals and polycules, and I specialise in working with people whose relationships sit outside of what you might consider being the ‘norm’ – my clients are often queer, non-monogamous, kinky, sex workers, etc – although I do work with clients of all backgrounds and orientations.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing upon a blend of humanistic, person-centred, and existential models.
Whether you’re seeking to enhance communication in your partnership, navigate sexual identity, or simply process complex emotions, I offer both short-term and long-term counselling tailored to your goals and needs.
Together, we’ll identify the support you’re seeking – be it skill-building, emotional processing, empathetic listening, or sexual education – and work collaboratively towards your desired outcomes.
Some of the relationship issues that I help clients with include:
- Improving communication and understanding
- Dealing with conflict
- Infidelity and rebuilding trust
- Improving emotional and physical intimacy
- Relationship transitions (beginnings, endings, changes)
- Navigating ethical non-monogamy
Some of the psychosexual issues that I help clients with include:
- Low or mismatched desire
- Erectile dysfunction
- Rapid or delayed ejaculation
- Pain during sex
- Vaginismus
- Inability to orgasm
- Exploring kink / dealing with shame around kink
How I work with clients:
I generally see clients weekly or fortnightly at the same time each week, although I am flexible as I understand this approach doesn’t work for everyone.
I will generally tailor my practice around you, the client, wherever possible, and that includes the logistics of how I work.
This also means that there is no fixed number of sessions you are signing up for when you decide to work together (although I do recommend at least six sessions) and if you feel like we’re not a good fit after a couple of sessions I will do my best to refer you elsewhere.
I always recommend a 20-minute initial consultation before going ahead with sessions so I can understand what is bringing you to therapy at this moment and how I feel I can best help you.
