Pascal Jourzac:
Psychotherapist, Coach & Couples Therapist (MBACP)
My name is Pascal Jourzac and I am a fully qualified psychotherapist, coach and couples therapist working at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, London E8. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Individual therapy:
I work within a therapeutic model called Personal Consultancy. This is a framework that employs coaching skills to help you sustain change in the future, as well as psychotherapy approaches to help you with current and past challenges.
You come to therapy to get support during challenging times or because you have a persistent feeling that things simply aren’t improving.
I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore those feelings, by establishing an empathetic therapeutic relationship. This helps me to understand how you are experiencing things.
I can then support you in gaining valuable insight into why you feel the way you do as a unique individual, before supporting you to bring about change.
Once you feel more balanced in your life, we can start using future-focused techniques to help you make sustained long-term changes in your life.
Your experiences are unique to you and so I will focus on you as an individual during therapy. However, I do have particular experience with the following presenting issues:
- Anger
- Anxiety
- Bereavement
- Depression
- Loss
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Personal development
- Relationships
- Work-related anxiety
Before coming into counselling, I worked for 22 years in education. Working with young people and adults in an increasingly challenging environment, convinced me that supporting people’s mental well-being was the most important development needed in public health.
As my approach to counselling is integrative, we can work in the way that best suits you as an individual. To best support you during these unprecedented times, I have completed university training on best practices for working online and over the phone.
I am available to work online, over the phone, or face-to-face. I charge £75 for individual face-to-face sessions online.
Couples’ therapy:
In couples therapy, I support clients in looking deeply into themselves and understanding and sharing the emotions that drive the disconnection in their relationship. Once we have understood the causes and impact of this disconnection and how it plays out, we can work to develop a closer emotional connection to create love and closeness.
When working with couples, I use an approach called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT aims to identify unhealthy patterns in relationships and their causes and help couples communicate and accept each other’s emotional needs. This in turn helps them to form stronger emotional bonds.
EFT is currently one of the most researched and successful approaches to couples therapy.
Through EFT, I am able to support couples with challenges such as:
- Unhealthy patterns in relationships
- Feeling stuck in a current conflict
- Betrayal
- Feelings of disconnection
- Impact of external factors on the relationship – (e.g. addiction)
- Impact of depression and anxiety on a relationship
I am available to work online, over the phone, or face-to-face. I charge £95 for couples’ face-to-face sessions online.
