Nicol Batra:
Integrative Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (MBACP)
Hello and thank you in advance for reading this. I’m Nicol Batra, I see clients at the HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, London E8.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling and am an insured member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am available to work with clients online and in person. I am available on Fridays, and weekday mornings and evenings (please see my working hours below).
My own journey as a client has been panoramic and transformational. I’m driven to pay this forward and help others as best I can.
I’m passionate about working psychotherapeutically with those in need, or those who want to explore and ideate from mind and spirit.
I work singularly and thoroughly, always seeking to be present, authentic, collaborative, and Zen.
I believe in a psychotherapy approach which is widescreen, celestial, and open to anyone who wants to explore themselves. Wholeness can be brought within reach incrementally.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating. Find the courage to dive in. My approach is centred on you and your desire to grow. Change is possible.
The best bouquets are made up of many different flowers. I work with a wide range of clients spanning the diversity of ethnicities, gender identities and sexual orientations amongst other dimensions. As a second-generation British Indian, I carry both Eastern and Western traditions in me.
We can work with whatever presents – feeling overwhelmed, depression, relationships, anger, grief and loss. Fear for the future, regrets about the past. I am keenly interested in sexuality, shame and truth.
I have begun to explore areas of specialism: addiction, eating disorders, working with suicide, trauma and anger management, as well as male identity issues.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to support others close to me through their questioning or indeed their crises. Those moments in life when it is vital to let light in. I bring to the therapy space: authenticity, truth, realness, relatability, respect and empathy.
You are a unique sentient being and yet your common humanity is powerful. This is central to the therapeutic relationship, and relationships generally – with self and with others.
I will always treat you, the client, with compassion – a human being to be respected and accepted as you are.
I have trained in multiple modalities. All of these weave together in my approach which is founded on the psychodynamic and the transpersonal.
Most valued of all is the therapeutic relationship. Healing comes from growth, growth from change, and change from trust.
