Marie-Helene Rynwalt:
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist Trainee (BACP student member)
Hi, my name is Marie-Helene Rynwalt. I am a trainee psychodynamic psychotherapist working in the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston and Dalston, Hackney, London E8.
I offer long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy to adults to explore issues, pains or worries that come up for them without judgment and with confidentiality. I provide a supportive and safe space.
I know that first contacting a therapist is not always an easy thing to do, and can provoke anxiety.
An initial meeting is a chance for us to get to know each other, and for you to see if you feel comfortable talking to me.
The type of therapy I offer, psychodynamic psychotherapy, looks at the unconscious influences which shape our thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
We will work together to get a better understanding of how these influences might be affecting you so that you can build a better relationship with yourself and others.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy takes at its core the understanding that our childhood and past experiences affect how we think, feel, and behave as adults albeit often without our conscious knowing.
You may experience bodily, emotional, or behavioural symptoms but are unable to make sense of them in the context of your life.
I offer both Dutch-speaking and English-speaking therapy. I understand the importance of creating a space where you feel understood and heard, regardless of language barriers or cultural differences.
Experience and Education:
- I am currently in psychodynamic psychotherapy training with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation, working towards an accreditation with the BPC.
- I have a certificate from the Institute of Psychoanalysis on their Foundation Course and I am a trainee member with the BACP.
- I have experience volunteering with a charity that works with people who feel life is no longer worth living and experience suicidal ideation.
- I have also worked one-on-one with SEND students at schools in London, providing them with emotional and academic support.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
