Lana Bonacic:
Trainee Integrative Counsellor & Coach (BACP student member)
Hello, I am Lana Bonacic, a trainee integrative counsellor and coach in my second year of pursuing a PGDip/MSc in Integrative Counselling and Coaching at the University of East London, with the aim of enhancing holistic health practices.
Additionally, I hold an MSc in Psychology from the University of Roehampton and bring over twenty years of experience in personal training and sports therapy. I am also a student member of BACP.
My focus is on empowering individuals to understand themselves better and uncover the origins of their difficulties, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling life and healthier relationships. At the core of my philosophy is the belief that each of us possesses the internal resources necessary for growth and success.
Together, we’ll uncover your strengths and values, using them to inspire resilience as you navigate everyday challenges.
As your counsellor, I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where we can explore the underlying reasons for your challenges, helping you find strategies to address emotional issues.
Processing our emotions can be challenging, and it’s common to feel overwhelmed at times. Together, we can develop strategies to manage intense feelings, reflect on their meaning, and learn to express them in healthy ways.
I also believe that our thoughts are not absolute truths; by reshaping them, we can transform our circumstances. Together, we’ll delve into the limiting beliefs and behaviours that may be holding you back, empowering you to move forward with clarity and confidence.
My approach is holistic, blending various therapeutic modalities and coaching techniques to address both the mind and body. Mental health and physical health are entwined. By integrating both mind and body, we can facilitate deeper healing and foster meaningful personal growth.
I am here to help you develop healthier stress responses and navigate your feelings of anxiety, depression, or being stuck. Together, we can foster resilience and well-being.
I believe that the essence of effective counselling lies in qualities such as self-awareness, compassion, kindness, patience, humility, an open mindset, excellent communication skills, a non-judgmental attitude and emotional intelligence. I strive to embody these traits not only in my counselling practice but also in my everyday interactions.
The most crucial aspect of counselling is the relationship that allows clients to feel safe while exploring their emotional challenges. I aim to create this supportive environment as you embark on your journey.
