Keludy Yue Zhou:
Trainee Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist (BACP student member)
Hello and welcome! My name is Keludy Yue Zhou and I am a trainee integrative therapist offering low-cost therapy and counselling and counselling at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston and Dalston, Hackney, London E8.
I come from an Asian background and have spent 3 years studying in London. I am a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working towards an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling at CPPD Counselling School. I am also doing a postgraduate degree in MSc Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies at UCL.
I have been working in Talking Counselling and London Young Counselling before joining HQ Therapy, where I gained experience working with both adults and children, engaging with issues such as anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, bereavement, relationship issues, self-esteem, and codependency.
I enjoy working psychodynamically and cross-culturally, helping you discover new insights about your sense of identity across different places and times. I also help you reflect upon your childhood upbringing and how it influences your interpersonal relationships.
The psychodynamic focus helps you understand your uniqueness and complexity and allows you to explore your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. For example, How do you see yourself as a person in the world? What is your relationship with important others?
I am happy to let you freely associate (to say whatever comes to mind, regardless of rationality) and help you analyze your dream.
I also use a person-centered approach, where I refrain from giving unyielding suggestions, and instead, I will encourage you to take the lead yourself through hints and reflective questions. This is because I believe that you are the sole person who knows yourself most and has your unique view of who you want to be. As your therapist, I will try my best to guide you through this self-exploration with my skills and to help you get closer to your full potential.
I create a safe space for my clients to feel comfortable and at ease, so they are ready to embark on the journey to explore their sense of self and important relationships. I also adjust the sessions according to what you find comfortable – either in a gentle or more challenging manner.
As for me, I have a playful, lively and patient character. I am open-minded and non-judgmental towards people’s experiences and beliefs. I have a strong interest in the human psyche and read extensively about it. I trust in people’s resilience and their power to strive towards a better self, and I will contribute my knowledge to help you get there.
I am available for both short-term and long-term therapy. I conduct my sessions on Sunday afternoons from 4pm to 7pm at HQ Therapy Rooms.
I look forward to hearing from you.
