Joanna Irina:
Trainee Integrative Psychotherapist (BACP student member)
Hello and welcome! I’m Joanna Irina, a trainee therapist working with the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, London E8.
Many different things can lead us to seek therapy.
Sometimes it’s a specific event we need help to process and understand; other times, it might be a general feeling of confusion or unease, where you find yourself thinking, “I don’t know what is going on with me.”
Whatever your reason, I am here to work with you to explore the areas of your life and aspects of yourself that need attention. Through this process, we can deepen an understanding of yourself and your experiences, moving towards acceptance.
My goal is to help you feel more content, confident, self-assured, and generally lighter in life.
Deciding to start therapy is a significant step towards better understanding yourself, healing, and regaining control of your life.
I am here to support you on this journey, working collaboratively to develop insights into your experiences and cultivate tools to help shape your future.
My Approach:
As an integrative practitioner, I draw on a variety of psychological theories and techniques to suit your individual needs. My training and experience span Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Existential, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Being a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their ethical guidelines, ensuring they guide and inform my practice.
Experience and Qualifications:
- MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling (in progress) at Regent’s University London
- Foundation Course in Psychotherapy and Counselling completed at Regent’s University London
- Therapy client work at Cruse, a bereavement charity in London
- Therapeutic engagement volunteer with dementia inpatient clients at East London NHS Foundation Trust
How I Work:
I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where empathy and compassion are at the forefront. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is my priority, providing a supportive environment where you can comfortably explore sensitive topics without fear of judgment.
While I offer gentle challenges to help you gain new perspectives on your life and issues, I am here to support you through the often challenging process of personal growth.
My sessions last 50 minutes, and I offer both in-person and online counselling. If you’re interested in working together, please get in touch for a 15-minute consultation session.
I look forward to hearing from you.
