Jacqueline Miller
Counsellor/Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor (MBACP)
My name is Jacqueline Miller and I am an experienced Accredited person-centred Counselling/Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor practicing from HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston E8.
Life has a tendency to throw major challenges at us, often without warning. You may find yourself dealing with a specific life-changing circumstance such as medical diagnosis, bereavement, traumatic experience, relationship, and family and work difficulties, to name a few.
You might be struggling to pinpoint your emotions; or feeling stuck, anxious and depressed, or unsure of how you feel about your life or a certain situation. I understand how internal and external pressures can lead people to unhelpful or damaging coping strategies. I am able to support you to identify healthier ways of managing thoughts and feelings.
Whatever has brought you to counselling, I offer a safe, caring empathic, and non-judgemental approach in which you will be seen, heard and valued for who you truly are as an individual. My philosophy of counselling is drawn from a humanistic approach, respecting and encouraging your autonomy throughout our sessions.
Our first session would be a chance for you to experience how we would work together; to discuss what has brought you to counselling, and ask me any questions about the counselling process, without any obligation to continue.
Alongside working in private practice at HQ Therapy, I also have a practice in Harley Street and North West London where I offer individual and group therapy. I offer clinical supervision to individuals, groups, and corporate organisations – Schools, NHS, and Mental Health Services.
I have extensive experience in private therapy and supervision practice, in NHS GPs’ surgeries offering short-term therapy, and charities offering both short-term and long-term bereavement therapy. I also have a medical background within the NHS, during a 17-year career as a nurse.
I have worked with organisations following major critical and traumatic incidents in London, which have severe, complex, and significant effects on people.
Anxiety, depression, suicidal Ideation, managing a new diagnosis, bereavement, identity, and relationship issues are just some of the areas of my experience.
I am a registered accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical framework.
