Integrative Counsellor & Coach (MBACP)

Counselling & Therapy in Highbury, Dalston & Online – Supporting Individuals & Couples

Clients come to me struggling with anxietylow self-esteemdepression, or a sense of being lost or disconnected. You might be going through challenging life transitions, dealing with relationship challengesfamily dynamics, or the effects of past experiences or trauma. I provide a confidential space where your thoughts and feelings can be explored with care and curiosity.

I offer in-person therapy at Highbury and Dalston, and online sessions for clients across the UK. I also work with couples and relationships, offering a space to improve communication, explore recurring conflicts, and reconnect with one another.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from several therapeutic approaches and tailor our sessions to suit your unique needs. My work is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, which means I place great importance on the relationship we build together. I aim to offer a warm, non-judgmental presence where you can explore whatever is on your mind at your own pace. You set the agenda, and I’ll work alongside you to reflect, understand, and move forward.

I also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and shift unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns. This can be particularly useful if you’re feeling stuck, anxious, or caught in cycles of self-criticism. Together, we might explore the beliefs you hold about yourself, others, or the world and how those beliefs influence how you feel and act.

From a Psychodynamic perspective, I may help you explore how early relationships and past experiences shape your present-day responses. Sometimes, patterns that made sense in childhood or during difficult times become unconscious habits that no longer serve us. Bringing these into awareness can deepen self-understanding and support lasting change.

I incorporate Existential Therapy when clients are grappling with big life questions around purpose, identity, or choice. This approach invites reflection on your values and choices and what living authentically means for you.

I also draw from Gestalt Therapy, a creative and experiential approach that focuses on what’s happening in the here and now. This might mean paying attention to body sensations, tone of voice, or what’s unfolding between us in the session. At times, we may facilitate conversations between conflicting parts of yourself, helping to bring clarity and understanding to inner tensions.

Sessions may vary in focus depending on what you bring each week. Some may feel more reflective and exploratory, others more structured or goal-oriented. My intention is always to meet you where you are and respond to what’s most helpful in the moment.

I work with both individuals and couples and welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and trauma-informed, and I aim to create a therapeutic space where all parts of you are welcome – including those that may feel conflicted, hidden, or uncertain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.
