Duncan Reid:
Psychotherapist (UKCP)
Hello, my name is Duncan Reid. I am a mindfulness-based, psychodynamic psychotherapist working with individuals and couples, in person and online at HQ Therapy Rooms in Dalston and Haggerston, Hackney, London E8.
Whether you are facing specific challenges or just have a general sense that life isn’t going as planned, my intention is to offer a space to talk openly about what’s happening for you in a supportive, non-judgemental atmosphere.
Working together in a mindful way involves bringing attention to your thoughts, feelings and body sensations without judgement, helping to bring your awareness to how you experience and react to situations and then exploring what feels most authentic and genuine to you.
Often what is affecting us involves relationships with partners, friends, family, or colleagues which can bring up feelings of anger, depression or anxiety. Similarly, our relationship with ourselves can sometimes need some support if we have tendencies such as self-criticism and self-sabotage.
By bringing more awareness to your thoughts and feelings, new perspectives can emerge, and new options can become available.
Couples work:
I also specialise in couples therapy. In relationships, sometimes patterns begin to emerge which can strain connections. Without support, it can be difficult to discuss these dynamics without escalating them.
My intention is to offer a space to discuss these openly by providing support and guidance in helping to identify the underlying issues and possible ways to work towards resolving them.
About Me:
I have an MA in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy from the Karuna Institute. I am a fully accredited member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and ACPP (Association of Core Process Psychotherapists) and I adhere to their ethical codes of good practice.
Sessions and Fees:
- Individuals £70 per 50-minute session.
- Couples £90 per 50-minute session.
- I also offer Low-Cost and Reduced-Rate therapy sessions for couples. Please contact me for more information.
- Sessions are usually at the same time and place every week. I work in person and online.
Finding the right therapist is an important first step so I offer a free introductory meeting online so you can find out what working together would be like.
