Alex Stiles:
Trainee Integrative Therapist (BACP student member)
Hi, my name is Alex Stiles and I’m a trainee integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working in the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms.
I offer a supportive approach in which to feel safe in exploring concerns or feelings that may be affecting you. There might be a recent event or trauma that is having a negative impact on your day-to-day life.
You may be facing challenges around relationships, your identity or questioning your life choices. Perhaps you are struggling with issues of low self-esteem, loneliness, anxiety or feeling lost or confused.
I work with compassion and sensitivity to build an environment where I hope you’ll be comfortable in discovering more about who you are, your situation and how you see the world.
I consider therapy as an opportunity to become truthful with who we are and to live more deliberately. I believe it can provide a sense of clarity and acceptance about our limitations and our possibilities which we don’t always have the capacity to consider in daily life.
I’m here to support you in whatever you bring to each session and to work with you to find ways to enhance your experience of life. In our sessions together we might be looking to identify patterns of behaviour that are causing you pain; exploring ways to improve self-esteem; questioning old narratives that no longer serve you or finding tools to help manage uncomfortable feelings or situations.
My Approach:
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all all approach when it comes to human experience. Therefore, I work with an integrative approach which means I combine different types of therapy to support a client’s individual needs and circumstances.
I like this way of working because it recognises each person’s uniqueness and allows us to work together to find an approach that works for you.
About me:
- I’m currently studying at The Minster Centre where I am working towards an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
- I’m a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I work to the values and principles of a professional body.
- I’ve previously worked in music, art and technology and hope to bring a creative approach to our work.
