Ade Abiade:
Trainee Humanistic Psychotherapist (BACP Student Member)
Hello my name is Ade Abiade, and I am a trainee humanistic therapist working in the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Dalston, Hackney, London E8.
I am in my third year of a Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling at Homa in London.
As a humanistic psychotherapist, I aim to and am passionate about creating a warm space where as a client you feel you can bring anything your spirit requires and feel it is safe enough to do so without any judgement or pressure.
The foundation of my approach to therapy is grounded in unconditional positive regard, empathy, active listening and mindfulness techniques.
In all of us I believe is the ability to self-actualise and grow, I think this is cultivated through self-awareness and a deep connection to self.
I understand that, at times, it can be difficult to express ourselves or even know where to begin.
Therapy to me is a collaborative process where together, we can find the right approach for you to talk about the difficult things while prioritising your needs and therapeutic goals.
The client-therapist connection is essential, built on trust and open communication. I aim to be authentically myself, and it’s equally important that you feel comfortable doing the same.
I don’t believe in diagnosing your problems or trying to tell you ‘what’s wrong with you’, instead I believe it’s my role to try and enter your frame of reference and understand and share in your unique experience of life and walk alongside you.
I work with people from all walks of life and am available to work with clients in person on Sunday evenings between 7 pm and 10 pm at HQ Therapy Rooms’ Dalston location.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and fully insured with Towergate Professional Liability Insurance.
About me:
Before embarking on a career as a therapist, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Sociology. My professional background includes experience in the property management and retail sectors.
