Emma Buck:
Integrative Counsellor & Personal Consultant (BACP)
I’m Emma Buck, an integrative counsellor, psychotherapist and coach (personal consultant) working with adults at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, London E8. I also teach counselling at the University of East London.
I offer either short or long-term weekly counselling to suit your needs and goals.
People seek counselling, coaching or other therapies for many different reasons – from a general feeling of being lost or stuck to dealing with a trauma or crisis, past or present. You may be facing difficult decisions or feeling at one of life’s crossroads.
Whatever brings you to counselling we will explore it together to help you to find meaning and a way forward.
I work in a person-centred, collaborative way, and have experience of working with a diverse range of clients on a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, relationships, trauma, bereavement, illness, identity and life transitions.
I believe human beings have an enormous capacity for change, personal growth and the development of deeper insight and awareness given the right conditions. I aim to offer a safe and supportive, accepting, non-judgemental and confidential space from which together we may be able to help you find some clarity and direction.
I was trained in a therapeutic model called Personal Consultancy which enables the integration of techniques from a range of different counselling, psychotherapy and coaching approaches to best suit the client. It allows for looking to the past for answers as well as identifying ways to move successfully onwards, while addressing unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour. Some clients may prefer a more forward- looking approach – more aligned with coaching; while others may need to look to their past to understand origins of unhelpful patterns, or ‘rules’ for living. Awareness is the start of change.
If this way of working sounds like something that might interest you, please contact me for a free 30-minute initial consultation, with no commitment. This is an opportunity for me to hear a bit about why you are looking for counselling at this time, and for you to ask me any questions about my practice. Research shows the quality of the relationship between counsellor and client is the most important factor in determining a good outcome from therapy, so it is important to find the right therapist for you.
If we decide to work together we will discuss your therapeutic goals and review regularly to make sure you are getting what you need from your sessions.
