Dan Isitt:
Trainee Integrative Psychotherapist (BACP student member)
I am a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), currently completing a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of East London.
My integrative approach combines elements of different modalities including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, existential and embodied therapy, depending on the needs of my client.
I am deeply interested in how emotional challenges can manifest physically in the body and the powerful connection between mind and body.
This holistic perspective guides my practice, where I work to understand the root causes of difficulties and their effects on both emotional and physical well-being.
In our work together, I will focus on creating a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space where you feel truly heard. Building a trusting relationship is at the core of my practice, as I believe it provides the foundation for meaningful change.
I am committed to empowering clients to build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and navigate life’s challenges with greater self-awareness, confidence, and purpose.
I have experience in a range of somatic therapeutic techniques, including breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness, to help you cultivate emotional regulation and develop practical strategies for well-being. I also draw on solution-focused therapy and CBT-based methods – helping you break free from unhelpful thought and behavioural patterns, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and move forward with clarity and a sense of control.
In addition to traditional therapy techniques, I enjoy working creatively with clients to unlock deeper insights and express emotions in new ways. Through art and music therapy, guided imagery, and visualisation, I help clients explore difficult feelings, gain insightful perspectives, and discover new ways of processing their experiences.
I also have a strong interest in supporting clients to explore their personal values and beliefs, helping them to uncover meaning and purpose in their lives and relationships. By understanding your values, we can work together to create a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
With over 12 years of experience in the charity sector, including roles with leading organisations supporting mental health, homelessness, and refugees, I have developed a deep understanding of human complexity and the power of compassionate care.
This experience shapes my work, as I believe that empathy, trust, and genuine human connection can bring about transformative change.
