Paul Martin:
Trainee Psychotherapist (BACP student member)
My name is Paul Martin and I am a Trainee Psychotherapist, qualified in Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches. I work in the low-cost counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms at Haggerston, Hackney, London E8, offering both online and in-person therapy.
I have an understanding of how past experiences shape our present and through our work together, provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges.
Over the years, I have developed a particular focus on trauma therapy, work-based stress and relational dynamics, supporting clients in navigating the complexities of healing from difficult experiences.
My approach is grounded in empathy and collaboration, helping you uncover your inner strengths and foster self-awareness. Whether you’re facing anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck, I am here to help you connect with your authentic self and move toward a more fulfilling life.
Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you.
My work centres on helping clients uncover the underlying patterns that shape their emotions, behaviours, and relationships.
My psychodynamic foundation allows me to help clients explore the unconscious roots of their struggles, providing insights that can foster profound personal transformation.
At the same time, my humanistic approach emphasises the value of each person’s unique experience, creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space for growth and self-discovery.
Trauma often leaves individuals feeling disconnected from themselves and others. My work focuses on helping clients heal from the wounds of the past, regain a sense of safety, and rediscover themselves. Whether addressing childhood trauma, relational injuries, or the effects of acute stress, each session seeks to meet clients’ individual needs, working collaboratively to develop strategies that promote healing and well-being.
Relationships are at the heart of our lives. Yet, they can also be a source of deep pain and confusion. Through the exploration of relational dynamics, individuals and couples can gain clarity about their interactions, uncover unhelpful patterns, and build healthier, more fulfilling connections.
Whether it’s navigating conflict, improving communication, or fostering intimacy, I aim to empower my clients to create relationships that align with their values and aspirations.
I understand that seeking therapy can be a big step, and my approach is warm, empathetic, and client-centred, ensuring that every individual feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, we can uncover the pathways to greater self-awareness, emotional freedom, and relational harmony.
If you are ready to embark on this journey, I am here to help. Let’s work together to create the change you seek.
