Martin Walsh:
Trainee Integrative Counsellor & Coach (BACP student member)
Hello and welcome, my name is Martin Walsh. I am a dedicated trainee counsellor currently pursuing a PGDip/MSc in Integrative Counselling and Coaching, with a strong foundation in the BACP Ethical Framework,
I work with clients in the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston and Dalston, Hackney, London E8.
I am committed to providing a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their challenges and cultivate growth.
My integrative approach is rooted in the core principles of client-centeredness, collaboration, holism, experiential learning, and integration. I believe that no single therapeutic approach can effectively address the diverse needs of every client.
Therefore, I draw from a variety of techniques to tailor interventions to the individual’s specific presentation, cultural background, and personal preferences.
Key techniques I employ include person-centred therapy, existential therapy, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, Gestalt therapy, and ACT.
By integrating these approaches, I aim to create a comprehensive and personalised therapeutic experience for each client.
The choice of interventions is guided by a thorough assessment of the client’s needs, including their presenting issues, personal goals, and cultural context.
The integration process is ongoing and collaborative, with room for adjustments as the client’s needs evolve.
I am committed to:
- Providing a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental therapeutic space
- Tailoring interventions to the client’s individual needs
- Incorporating a variety of therapeutic techniques
- Fostering a collaborative and client-centered approach
- Remaining mindful of potential challenges and ethical considerations
I look forward to the possibility of supporting you on your journey towards personal growth and well-being.
