William Lee Psychotherapeutic Counsellor Hackney London E8William Lee:

Trainee Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (BACP student member

Hello, my name is William Lee, and I am working in person and online through the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms. I am currently working towards becoming a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London, registered with the BACP.

My background is rooted in years of meditation practice, self-enquiry, and the study of Vedic knowledge and traditions. I have taught meditation to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.

Additionally, I use sound healing with different frequencies to support trauma release and embodiment. I co-founded an osteopathy and complementary therapy clinic and have gained extensive knowledge of various healing modalities—both medical and holistic, Eastern and Western.

Through this journey, I have developed a deep understanding of the interconnection between the mind, body, and soul.

My Psychosynthesis Approach:

  – Creating a Safe Space—I aim to provide a supportive environment where you feel safe to be open and vulnerable, whether you’re feeling pain, joy, anger, or anything in between. This is a space where you can freely express all parts of who you are.

  – Handling Crisis—I help you cope with the shock and emotional reactions that come with difficult situations. Together, we work through the feelings and thoughts you’re experiencing, find a sense of acceptance, and explore new possibilities that might arise from the crisis.

  – Improving Relationships—We focus on improving how you communicate by building the strength to be genuine and honest, which helps build understanding, closeness, authenticity and emotional connection in your relationships.

  – Letting Go of the Past—We look at the patterns you may find yourself stuck in because of past experiences and how they affect your current life. I provide a safe space for you to understand and accept these parts of yourself, helping you integrate them and move forward.

  – Connecting with Your Body—We explore how your body relates to your thoughts and emotions. I draw on techniques like breathwork, body awareness, and mindful practices to help you feel more in tune with yourself and regulate how powerful emotions affect your body.

I approach all of this with deep respect, kindness, and empathy, honouring your unique journey by working intuitively at the pace that feels right for you as you heal and grow.

I am available for in-person sessions between 19:00 and 22:00 on Sundays and online at HQ Therapy. If you think we might be a good fit, please feel free to get in touch. I would be happy to work with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.
