Eirini Melegkovits:
Clinical Psychologist (HCPC)
My name is Eirini Melegkovits, and I am a Clinical Psychologist offering sessions online and face-to-face in HQ Dalston.
I hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and I have worked in NHS specialist services for the past 5 years. I previously worked in statutory and charity settings abroad, with adults experiencing adversity, as well as adolescents and their parents.
Therapy is the process of healing but also of self-discovery, and while challenging at times it can really set the path to finding purpose, living a life aligned with your values, and being more confident, reflective, and socially connected.
I aim to provide an open, confidential and supportive environment where we will collaboratively create a space that is safe to explore your difficulties, feel heard, and be empowered. Together, we will explore what brought you to therapy and develop goals tailored to your unique needs.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I combine a range of models in my work, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, family therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, and also draw on contemporary approaches using elements of compassion, mindfulness, and emotion regulation.
Having lived and worked in multicultural settings throughout my career, I value diversity, and in sessions invite clients to consider how experience is shaped by their social and cultural background, such as their ethnicity, race, religion or gender, and sexual identity. I am trained to work with parents, adolescents, and adults/older adults, including those with learning difficulties.
I have previously supported clients facing a range of emotional and social difficulties, including stress, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress and complex trauma, as well as psychosis, bipolar disorder, and obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
Therapy may also be helpful in situations where life feels stressful, due to transitions or changes in one’s circumstances, difficulties in families or relationships. Some people may come to therapy to find ways to process and cope with memories or painful emotions related to challenging or traumatic life events, present or in the past.
Drawing from trauma-focused therapy, I aim to support people to find new ways to connect with their experience, explore feelings of shame, distrust, guilt, or powerlessness, and explore ways to reclaim their lives by building on their strengths.
In addition to working clinically, I also conduct research in the NHS on the experience of inpatient services, and the processes underlying the impact of trauma on adult mental health in collaboration with University College London.
I offer a sliding scale with different rates for sessions online vs. face-to-face and operate a number of slots with reduced fees.
Please get in touch via email if you would like to find out more about my practice, and discuss rates and availability for sessions online or face-to-face.
