Yoko Crohill:
Integrative Arts Psychotherapist (HCPC)
Hi, my name is Yoko Crohill and I am an Integrative Arts psychotherapist working with adults, face-to-face from HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, London E8. I also work online with clients across the UK.
I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to explore your concerns, difficulties, or feelings that might be hard to express or think about. I will sit alongside you through the process of exploration, connections and change.
I believe that therapy is collaborative work between the therapist and the client and that the therapeutic relationship is at the core of the process. I work together with the client to create a sense of trust and safety, where you will feel listened to and understood.
I see that we are all unique and complex. We experience our lives differently and different approaches might be helpful for different people. As an integrative psychotherapist, I am able to draw on a variety of theories and approaches to meet your individual needs.
As an art psychotherapist, I can also offer the arts, imagination and creativity in sessions. You do not need any artistic “skills” or even to use the arts at all! They are there if needed.
They can be a gateway to expression, exploration and communication. They can support you to be in touch with your feelings, thoughts and experiences – for example, when we “cannot find a word”, but we know “it is a bit like…”. For some people, an emotional experience connects with a colour, an object, a fairy tale, music, a phrase, a bodily sensation or a movement.
The arts hold emotions, whether conscious or unconscious, verbal or non-verbal, past or present. And art makings can simply be helpful for calming, regulating or just having fun, which might be what you need at that moment.
While I offer open and flexible approaches for your individual needs, I make sure our sessions are confidential, private and safe. I work ethically, adhere with professional bodies for safe practice and I am continuously updating my skills and knowledge base. I have regular supervision to make sure my practice is ethical, effective and appropriate for your needs and goals.
I hold an MA in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy and am registered with HCPC. I have worked in community-based charities and NHS settings. I have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and with issues including depression, anxiety, substance misuse, grief and loss, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, identities and intercultural issues.
Please contact me to arrange a free initial consultation to find out about the therapy I offer, discuss what you would like to get from therapy and see if we are a good fit.
I offer sessions in English and Japanese.
